RENEWABLE HEAT INCENTIVE CONSULTATION LAUNCHED
- A major boost for wood fuelled heating
The Government this week launched its consultation
on the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI). This scheme, scheduled for launch in
April 2011, will provide a significant financial reward to the
users of wood fuelled boilers installed since July 2009.
The scheme is essentially a 'cash-back' or
rebate system. The rates which have been proposed are:
 | up to 45 kW
9 p/kWh |
| 45kw to 500kW 6.5 p/kWh |
| Over500 kW
1.5-2.5 p/kWh |
This scheme at last recognises the contribution
to carbon reduction that wood fuelled boilers make.

Midlands Wood Fuel wholeheartedly welcomes this
announcement, although we will be lobbying for boilers installed prior
to July 2009 to also be included in the scheme.

WOOD PELLETS

by blower truck. The pellets are UK manufactured from virgin fibre only, and
meet the CEN /TS 14961 standard. We
can also provide the same pellets in 10 kg sacks, 100 at a time, delivered
on a pallet to your premises. These

MWF recruits new Production Manager
Midlands Wood Fuel welcomes the recruitment of Andy Grundy in the role of
Production Manager.
This new position within the Company results from significant growth in
demand for our products and services. Andy is responsible for overseeing the
production and delivery of our wood chip fuel, managing the maintenance of
our growing fleet, and for managing the sale of our contract chipping
services.
Andy joins us from Heartwoods, the regional woodland initiative, where
amongst other things, he was involved in the promotion of wood fuel. He has
many years experience working in the land management and forestry sectors,
and has a degree in Ecology.

Rapid Response!
As Midlands Wood Fuel expands, the need to move fuel and
equipment around the region quickly and efficiently becomes parmount.
To this end, MWF has invested in a Scania hook lift
truck, and a LIV crane, with which to feed the 'Wood Temrinator'.
