CHIP, PELLET and LOG BOILERS

Wood fuel, whether it is in the form of logs, pellets or chips, can be used for heating virtually any type of property, from domestic houses up to large public or commercial buildings and even providing heat for industrial processes.

WOOD CHIP BOILERS

The modern wood chip boilers are fully automatic (no man-handling of the chips), highly efficient, and very clean burning.

Wood chip boilers are generally best installed at larger types of properties with loads in excess of around 60 kW.

The boilers can be installed alongside, or to replace, existing gas, coal or oil boilers. No modifications to the heating system are necessary.

The boilers require a high quality wood chip, which can be supplied by Midlands Wood Fuel. The chips are loaded directly into the boiler hopper or bunker from our delivery vehicles and then fed automatically into the boiler on demand. Microprocessors within the boiler control the whole process, making it very user-friendly.

PELLET BOILERS

Wood Pellet boilers provide the answer where storage space is limited, because pellets are more dense than chips, the boilers and their fuel stores are smaller. Pellets can be loaded by hand from 10 kg sacks, or fed automatically from silos or storage rooms.

They are most common in domestic properties and in city centre sites.

Naturally, Midlands Wood Fuel supplies both bagged and bulk pellets throughout the West Midlands.

LOG BOILERS

Most people associate log fuel with open fires and traditional living room stoves. Modern log boilers however are highly efficient central heating units capable of providing heating and hot water for 24 hours from a single loading of seasoned logs.

Both the MWF head office, and the Managing Directors home are heated using modern log boilers!

The boilers generally achieve efficiency of at least 90%. Loading and lighting takes about 10 minutes a day. Weekly cleaning takes no more than 5 minutes.

Log boilers are available at outputs between 15 and 70 kW.
